     CR-V entered the market in the year 1995 was launched by Honda under the crossover SUV segment with All Wheel Drive and Four Wheel Drive options. The UK and Australia markets have All Wheel Drive only. The current model in the market which is CR-v 2010 is third generation face lifted model and now a more advanced and better model of Honda CR-V 2011 is being launched which has luxurious interior, redefined design and is powerfully efficient.

 

     The all new vehicle is marketed to live up to the expectation of the customers. And the very name CR-V stands for “Comfortable Runout Vehicle”, which Honda wants to portray that feeling. This all new car will remain the same as it was in previous models with 5 Speed Automatic Transmission and will remain as a Front Wheel Drive where as Four Wheel Drive (AWD) will retain the option, and is available in trims SE, LX, EX and EX-L. Under the hood Honda has provided single engine in all cars which contains 2.4 Liter i-VTEC 4 cylinder Engine producing 180Horsepower and generates 161 pond lb-ft of torque which is actually lesser than the normal torque but the Horsepower is quite impressive in 4 cylinder engines genre. The fuel efficiency along with this engine is said to be 21 mpg in city and 28 mpg on highway with FWD, and 21 in city and 27 on highway for AWD.

 Some of the standard features in Honda CR-V 2011 LX which will come with all models include optional AWD, remote entry system, Daytime running lights, Air-conditioning with active filtration system, power windows with auto up/down at drivers side window, tilt telescopic steering wheel and Cruise control. Drivers seat with manual adjustable features, 60/40 split sliding fold and tumble forward passenger and rear seats. In entertainment sections you will get 4 Speaker 160 Watt AM/FM/CD audio system and auxiliary input jacks along with Multi Information Display. In SE trim all these features along with steering wheel mounted audio controls, rear privacy glass and 160 Watt, AM/FM/CD with 6CD’s in dash Music system with 6 Speakers will be provided.

     EX trim will be equipped with all the SE features plus the car is provided with security system with remote entry, Moonroof having tilt feature and operates on single touch along with exterior temperature indicator and dual deck cargo shelf will be standard. The up class model EX-L will have all features of the EX trim and in addition, it will have auto on/off multi-reflector halogen headlights, door handles and mirrors of the same color, Dual zone automatic climate control system and centre console. The front seats will be heated and leather trimmed along with leather wrapped steering wheel and exterior temperature indicator. The entertainment will be provided via 270 Watt, 7 Speakers including subwoofer AM/FM/6CDin dash Music system with USN audio interface. Honda satellite linked navigation system with voice recognition color monitor and Bluetooth Technology for hands free phone and digital card reader will be available as optional. This navigation package will also be provided with the Steering mounted controls for the navigations and Audio System.

     Safety of the car is taken care with front side and side curtain airbags containing roll over sensors/ along with active head restraints for the driver and front passenger. Whereas some of the active features include Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction control, Electronic Brake Distribution with Brake assist and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The warranty provided on all the models will include 3years/36,000 miles road side assistance limited warranty and 5year/60,000 limited warranty for the powertrain. The price range for the Honda CR-V 2011 is not declared yet, but is considered to be within the range of $ 22,475 to $ 30,683. Whereas the price tags for independent models will be $23,725 for CR-V LX with AWD and, $22,475 for FWD. Whereas CR-V SE model will cost $23,175 and $24,425 FWD and AWD respectively. CR-V EX will go around $26,025 for AWD and $ 24,775 for FWD whereas CR-V EX-L will cost around 27,425 for FWD and $28,675 for FWD. The EX-L with navigation package is considered to be the costliest of all the models with $ 29,425 for FWD and $30,683 for AWD.
