When deciding how to make a title page, it is important that you ensure your page title is unique, both from a reader’s and search perspective. The greater the appeal your title has, the greater your chances are of attracting persons who are really interested in what you are offering. Take these two titles for instance, “Earn Money On The Internet” and “5 Amazing Tips To Making Money On The Internet in 2014.” The first title page format is far too common and considered a generic term. That means it has a greater likelihood of being ignored. The second title is a longer term but it is direct and gives readers more information as to what can be expected from the page.

5 basics for writing title tags:

1) Use your primary keywords in the page title. By doing this your page will get indexed by search engines, helping it to achieve a higher ranking.

3) Stay away from using special characters such as product numbers, exclamation marks, and hyphens, as they use up extra space making your SEO page title too long and less comprehensible.

4) Avoid repeating page titles. When sites take the template approach they quickly run into readability issues and loose the ability to distinguish pages from one another. It’s important to have unique, descriptive titles for each page. A solution is to create a repeatable format.

5) Include your brand in the page titles. The title tag of your homepage is an appropriate place to include both the brand name and tag line or brand value proposition. For all other pages, simply include your brand name in the beginning or end of the title tag, separated from the rest of the title with a single hyphen, colon or pipe.
